We also invite you to start familiarizing yourself now with all the advantages Daviess County offers:

Education

With high school graduation rates higher than both the state and national average, Daviess County schools are raising standards and sending graduates into the world with confidence and relevant skills. Project-based learning and other leading pedagogies keep students engaged while actively and enthusiastically learning.

Adding to the academic success, Daviess County schools and student athletes thrive in sports with multiple championship-caliber athletic programs. Multiple teams have won sectional, regional, semi-state and state championships in their specific sports program. The playing fields, courts, and gyms in Daviess County produce winners on & off the playing surface while preparing our student-athletes for success after high school.

Beyond athletic success, our Daviess County schools offer championship activities & clubs that win in a myriad of ways. Whether it be the local high school bands, choirs, robotics teams, science teams, ROTC, FFA, or academic and club teams, Daviess County schools thrive in competition and carry that competitive spirit towards college, university, trade school, and our local workforce. Plus, families have choices:

HealthCare

With a dozen different care locations and a heritage of service that dates back over a century, Daviess Community Hospital is your reliable, responsive provider for high-quality, personalized healthcare. As an affiliate of Ascension St. Vincent, the hospital can offer local care backed by the resources of one of the nation’s leading non-profit Catholic health systems. That combination makes Daviess Community Hospital the optimum choice for urgent care, surgery, orthopedic, pediatric, oncology/hematology care, outpatient services, and more. A licensed and accredited non-profit organization, the Samaritan Center provides mental health and addiction treatment. Daviess County is also one of seven counties served by a medical clinic of Memorial Hospital and Healthcare Center, based in nearby Jasper.

Boating, fishing, hiking, biking, golf, pickleball, and tennis—choose your adventure from an alluring list. With thousands of acres of fishing and wildlife areas, lakes, forests, wilderness areas, and city parks, Daviess County offers abundant and affordable recreational opportunities set against beautifully panoramic surroundings like the 1,000-acre West Boggs Lake and Park and the 8,000-acre Glendale Fish and Wildlife Area. Municipal parks are equally inviting with amenities like pickleball courts at Longfellow Park and paddleboats, a gazebo, and a miniature train at Eastside Park. And while WOW (Waterworld of Washington) makes a big splash every summer, the $1.6 million Gwaltney Sports Complex hosts youth leagues that keep kids engaged and active in organized sports year-round.
